Trust Fall

Recently, I have been doing a lot of trust falls with my friends, even when they are not expecting it. I always let myself fall though, because I have faith that they will catch me and not let me hit the floor…I trust them. Then one day a thought occurred to me: do I have enough faith to do a “trust fall” into God’s arms? You see for some reason this idea seems to scare me, and presumably other people as well, way more than doing an actual trust fall with the people I know. It shouldn’t. God always has our backs, and he has a plan for each and every one of our lives, we just have to trust him. You can never catch God off guard when you decide to fall into his arms, wondering if he will catch you. He’s always right there, waiting for you to just have a little faith. There are plenty of reasons we can all give to avoid listening to God and trusting his plan for our lives, but ultimately we have to make the decision: to trust him or to try to do it on our own.
“Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” (Psalm 9:10)
